Many of the comments seem to say that there is no jazz in the Grammy awards. There is, it's just not televised. And as much as I have loved jazz for the past 45 years or more, even though I will add my name to the petition, I'm not holding my breat that we will see anything more than tokenism, at the best, on future broadcasts.

The best musicians and representatives of americas greatest music are being pushed aside for a bunch of no talent garbage. Most of these self described artist, dont write their own music, lyrics or play insturments to any competent level, their music is produced for them and they get all of the credit for being the front person. Most of them are Mili Vanili (sic) with a voice.

jazz is America's foremost contribution to world culture, yet the powers that be that manifest the primacy of business in the music world - through the Grammy awards- choose to ignore jazz - thereby imparting jazz ' s ability to reach a wider audiece- and instead , feature meter trick out 'artists' whose greatest talent is finding a way to combine simplistic garbage, labeled as music, that is commercially viable, with classless behavior that appeals to the most bass instincts in humanity

I thought jazz was invented in the USA, therefore culturally should be included in such grand domaine. But if the Grammy's are based purely on numbers of dollars, then of course Jazz will fall behind.
