I grew up skating at the Ice Capades Chalet on 5th and Broadway. Such a facility in Santa Monica will finally fill the void left when that rink closed in 1983.

Even when the Culver City ice rink was still in existence, it was far away from residents in Santa Monica. I grew up going to the Culver City rink and would love from my kids to enjoy a new rink and soccer field in Santa Monica.

As a Santa Monica resident and a "soccer" Mom, I can tell you that we are desperately in need of more soccer and baseball/softball fields. An ice-rink would be a great addition as well.

After the closing of the Culver City Ice Rink and the massive success of the Santa Monica Ice Rink I think that it would be an important addition to this community to build this Sports Complex. I love to ice skate as do many others out here so this complex would not be going to waste!
