I saw a tennis court atop a parking structure in Berkeley, CA ! Great use of idle roof space.

I learned to skate at Ice Capades Chalet in Santa Monica and it is time for a new facility of this nature to once again rule the Westside and help to create champions of the future.

With the soon to be completed Expo line, a higher rate of foot traffic will be likely at this new complex. Those coming from other parts of Los Angeles, will bring their families, and speak with their dollars at this new location. The kids and adults will benefit from more recreational facilities. Those who wish to learn how to ice skate, play hockey, try broomball, play soccer, and other various games will be able to do so in a well-lit, safe environment. This complex will help transform Santa Monica into being a great recreational hub. It will have state of the art facilities, and may encourage neighboring cities to invest in the same. I do have hope that this project will get off the ground, and show the rest of Southern California what a grassroots movement can do.

Born in raised in Santa Monica and played competitive ice hockey for the LA Jr. Kings in El Segundo for 14 years. Great opportunity to expand the reach of hockey in Southern California and intensify the competition, creating the potential for more professional players stemming from the area.

Please bring back the ice to the Westside! It takes 1:30 -2 hrs to get to the Toyota Sports Center from UCLA and and 2:30 hrs to get to Pasadena on public transport, please don't deprive us of the joy of ice skating!

My kids were fortunate enough to learn to Skate at Culver City Ice rink before it closed ... we need a facility like this on the West side .. I say build it and they will come! Youth hockey in LA is GROWING fast, for both boys and girls. The south bay cities have high school hockey teams, something missing from SMMUSD, but would also be a good location for skaters from Palisades and Pali High and beyond! Predictions are by the time my 5th grader is college age both USC and UCLA will have established high quality and very competitive hockey programs - much needed! TSC has 3 sheets of ice that are literally NEVER empty ... we need this!
