Square Enix has officially confirmed the remaster is arriving on the platform. The objective of this petition is complete and the development team is proceeding with the port. I will be monitoring the store listing closely to ensure the release occurs as scheduled.

Would you like the members of your favorite elite mercenary force recieve a nice facelift? How would you feel about seeing Balamb Garden in HD? Have you wondered how awesome it would be to play Triple Triad using a slick, wireless PS4 controller? You’re not alone, my friend. Square Enix has given us games that we can enjoy for a lifetime. They’ve also recently ported a couple of our favorite Final Fantasy games to the PS4. But they’ve left one game from the golden age in the dark. Whether you love Final Fantasy VIII, or didn’t care for the mechanics, it is one of the best-selling titles in the franchise. Perhaps if we make enough noise, they will listen. The current level of interest has reached a point where we are ready to initiate formal contact with Square Enix representatives. I am drafting a letter that highlights this demand to the development team. I will provide a status report once I receive a response regarding this proposal.

There should be a remake or remaster of this game by now. I don’t understand why Square Enix ignores this game. Multiple times they have remade or re released their other Final Fantasy titles. This one is long overdue.
We definitely need the best Final Fantasy on the newer consoles, VII, IX, X & X-2, XII all getting ported on one or another some way, how can you really justify leaving VIII and all if it's fans out? A port is not that difficult and they know it! Glad to see people from a group I shared this to signing and commenting!
This would be a great port in my opinion, with addition of trophies, I think it would be a great game to play again. 10/10 would buy again
9-9-99 was the original release date... Let's get a remake announced by the 20th anniversary!
I loved FFVIII but never had the chance to properly finish it, and I'd like that chance again

Final fantasy VIII è una pietra miliare, nonché uno dei migliori capitoli, della saga di FF. È stato ed è uno dei miei giochi preferiti in assoluto tanto da averlo ricomprato 3 volte ed aver installato l'emulatore sul pc per poterlo rigiocare (cosa che rifaccio sporadicamente a tutt'oggi). Unico nel suo genere per la riuscitezza della storyline, dei personaggi, dei minigiochi, della colonna sonora e per stile di gioco (con abilità come le Juction ed il sistema per acquisire le magie). UN CAPOLAVORO CHE PECCAVA SOLO DI GRAFICA E CHE ORA PUÒ ESSERE MIGLIORATO. remake fedele pls.
