By 2013, the school leaving age will be raised to 18. This means students will not have the choice or control of their own future. We want to change this!
We want young people everywhere in the UK to have the choice to do what they want in the future. Further education is not the right path for everyone; for example, less academic people would struggle to achieve the requirements of further education and would benefit more from going out and getting a job for themselves.
Giving young people the choice will enhance confidence and freedom as they will have control over their future. Youths need to experience life outside of education where they must fend for themselves.
Bring down the school leaving age, not the future for our teens. YOU should choose your own path.
The bureaucrats in Parliament think they own our kids and can decide their entire futures without asking a single one of them. I am sick of hearing stories from teenagers trapped in classrooms when they are ready to build a life and a career in the real world.

The momentum behind this fight proves that students are waking up to the fact that the government is trying to trap them in a system that does not fit. Bureaucrats in Westminster think they can dictate our life paths but this surge of support shows they are dead wrong. We are taking back control of our own futures.

School isnt for everyone. My son hated every second and just wanted to start his apprenticeship. He learned way more on the job then he ever did sitting at a wooden desk.

Ridiculous to keep teens trapped when they could be starting their lives. Not everyone is made for sitting in a classroom until they are 18.
