It's funny how we ask our kids to have a growth mindset and the people in the education world who may be the most "fixed" in their mindset are the teachers and administrators. Let's move forward!

Love your deep perspective and ideas on math edu reform. I have often felt more emphasis should be placed on the core ideas of logic, probability, and analysis as opposed to computation and rote pattern recognition. Please let me know how I can further show support!

I support this initiative to change the math curriculum in the K-12 system. To teach kids how to critically think, collect and use data is critical for their future. What’s the push back for change? Test scores. Get rid of high stakes testing will open the door to change.

I homeschool because the modern k12 curriculum is no longer applicable to the modern world, especially in math.

When you change the content of high-stakes testing, you change the innocuous benchmarks on report cards, and then you change the world.

It’s a no-brainer that whichever math skills matter more to prepare our children for the real world need to be on the curriculum. There’s so much research and stats on what math skills are needed more in life nowadays so please make changes to our education accordingly!

We are failing our children. In order to compete in the global economy, we need to teach our students RELEVANT math skills. We need to focus on basic arithmetic, statistics, and other aspects of data literacy. Not once in my career as a CPA and economist was I called upon to calculate the length of a triangle's hypotenuse or the sine of an angle. But I constantly had to calculate percentages and interpret trends in my data. Please modernize our curriculum!

Great cause and makes sense given the challenges our future workforce will face!
