I am thrilled to be able to share this data with my students who constantly complain about the irrelevancy of their math lessons. Now they can turn their complaints into action!

This is desperately needed. Data can be manipulated to suit one's needs and students need to have the ability to evaluate what they are reading/hearing.

No one is BAD at math but way too many people think they are. We need to teach math so that students learn it, feel confident, and are able to function, not just successfully, but also happily when doing math as adults.

As an elementary teacher, I know that the jobs that many of my students will have as adults don't even exist yet. Our academic standards push for a wide scope of skills and leave little time to really dive deeply into conceptual understanding and problem solving, which are the transferable skills that employers require.

As a Highschool math teacher I can testify how much out math curriculum has to change! We are teaching things our students can’t relate to! We need to make several changes in the math curriculum

We are implementing many of these ideas in our school: we use an integrated curriculum with a focus on statistics, we don't track, teachers don't "own" classes - we all teach all level of classes.

Data is everywhere, but not so much in education. So, how will students know what to do when they enter life beyond K-12?
