Let him be a father

Removing him from his position seems sufficient, banning him from the entire fair seems a bit overboard. Keep it about the kids and allow him to support his child.

Im all for families in 4H, especially in the case of a man volunteering to take charge to be with his daughter at this memorable time of her life. Don't do this to any little girl and her daddy.

It's to bad that the fair only cares about if they make money at the fair but doesn't care about families anymore

Bring Darin back, there is no need to ban him from his daughter. You thereby are punishing his daughter. Shame on you as a board. Remove him from the board, yes, from his child, you become the problem. And then it's time for a complete disbandment of the entire board. You would be eligible for a good case with the ACLU if you do not allow Darin to participate with his daughter.

This punishment is ridiculous. Not proportionate at all to the mistake.

Your right we should plaster this all over the media and close them down! We should get a hold of woodtv8, Fox17 and any place that will listen! This fair does not deserve to function anymore!!

You can take the fair away from the man, but you can't take away him being a Dad!!!! Let him continue to support his child!!!!

It is sad to see what has happened to the fair now that some hold power. The true character of people come out when they hold power, and it is being seen by our younger generation. It is destroying the fair in many ways and this is one! Sad to see volunteers be painted as villains. What is the purpose of 4-H? To build a better future. To make the best better. Seems many have forgotten. Stand up. For your kids. Stand up. Say the pledge. Say the motto. Do the right thing...it is not too late.

Let him be there for his daughter, she didn't do anything, she needs and wants her dad there to support her, this is a big event and time in her life

He has been working very hard for this Fair for many many years. Someone should have thought about that when the decision was made! Proud of you Darin!!!!!

Bill you missed my point completely. The way these fairs are set up is not the way a livestock auction is handled at all. If your concerned with getting the exact weight you better stick to livestock auctions to do your buying sir. These animals are weighed in at the start of the fair and sold on that weight. So there is not one single animal that weighs what it did when it walked across the scale at weigh in. It might be that they weigh more or less. Its the point that one single man is being punished for what a group of people are required to oversee. Neither you or I can say that this animal weighed in at the minn. because we weren't running the scales. So to support your comment maybe you should petition that every animal walks over the scale as it enters the sale ring so you don't feel cheated in any way!

So you are ok selling animal that is not the correct weight to a buyer. Sounds like this fair auction is scamming buyers. Hope the media don't get a hold of this. This would be some bad publicity for Darin and the fair.
