The news arrived today that Costco has officially committed to opening a location here in Geelong. This outcome acknowledges the clear desire of our community for more options and local opportunities. I am grateful for the collective patience shown throughout this process as we navigate the upcoming construction phases together.

The feedback I receive confirms that many people share the desire for more affordable options and local employment opportunities in our region. I am currently reaching out to planning officials to gauge their interest in considering a project of this scale.

As the second biggest city in Victoria, a Costco would benefit this area and the regional areas beyong Geelong as well.
Geelong has the growing affluent population needed to make Costco viable and profitable. Hope they do a Biz Plan Analysis.
Would love to go to costco locally instead of driving to melb with 2 kids. I would be a frequent shopper if there was one in Geelong.
We moved from Canberra and I went to Costco alot and spent alot of money !!!! there is so many staff,it would be great for employment . Travelling to Melbourne for a shop isn't a great option for us. Would love a cotco in Gellong region.
I would love to see a Costco in Geelong which would also allow everyone from the Western District all the way to Warrnambool to use it. It would also be on benefit to Werribee /hoppers crossing

I am an ex Geelong boy, who after spending 37 years in Canberra where I had easy access to a Costco Store, and after selling my house in Canberra and I built a new home here in Geelong. I think Geelong's ever growing population with nearby the surrounding regional centres is primed for more retail opportunities. A Costco would do very well here.
