Hi everyone, I'm a reporter at The Record newspaper and I'm interested in writing a story about the city's review of the animal control bylaw to possibly allow backyard chickens in the city. I'd like to talk to people who want to keep backyard chickens (or already do) about this topic. Please feel free to reach out at [email protected]. Thank you.

We want to be allowed to grow our own food and have our own eggs on our property in Cambridge. Kitchener allows this if you pay a $50 fee. What is the harm if you have a few chickens in a proper coop in your backyard??

Its about time that we are allowed backyard chickens, every other city is allowing them, London, Kitchener, Guelph I see nothing wrong with this, it teaches kids were their food sources come from,

I would love it! Would be great learning for the kids and is very healthy. 1 to 3 per family. Only a hand full of people would do it. I would evencourage pay a license fee to do it!

I kept chickens in town for many years on a grandfathered clause. Never had a single complaint. If people can own dogs they should be able to own chickens too

Please allow chickens as other municipalities have. This healthy option is good for us on many levels.

I feel it is healthier option to have fresh eggs. It is a good experience for children to learn responsibility and learn about what we eat. It is calming and comforting to certain people, and companionship.
