I have been reading through the comments and seeing so many people who share my view that context is everything for this show. Drag has always been about pushing boundaries and reclaiming language through humor. This fight is about keeping the spirit of the art form alive and I am not backing down.

Seeing this momentum grow reminds me why I started this in the first place. I truly believe that context matters and I am so grateful to everyone who recognizes the history behind this phrase.

i am a strait woman who has been a fan of rupaul for a very long time, i look forward to rdr every week. PLEASE don't let hateful immature people change a good show like this one.
I am a firm supporter of the LGBT community, and I think the phrase and the segment in question was truly meant to be tongue in cheek and carried no malicious intent. I honestly think the apology was enough.
The LGBT community needs to love themselves and learn to laugh with the rest of us. Its part of being a family, and 6 seasons later we cannot suddenly claim something as offensive.
The 'transphobic slur' that is she-mail is a staple of the show. A hardly think that a show that is a contest for drag queens would use transphobic language in its programming. Seven long seasons, and now people complain? Wrong time and wrong reasons. Pathetic.
As an ex-drag queen and friend of the trans community, I find the current trend of trans oversensitivity to be offensive. Let’s grow some thicker skin and see things for the fun they are intended. And BTW, she-male describing guys in dresses is perfectly appropriate.
It took you guys forever to get this. Like wow WTF. she mail. not she-male. get it fucking right.
