Bring Back Yorkville Middle School Graduation/Promotion Ceremony for the year 2014

This is not good my daughter enjoyed it when she had it. I feel others should have the same memories!

This is a wonderful memory for the kids. Crowd control can be managed, and has before for many school activities.

This is just terrible. YMS should be ashamed of itself, specifically Mrs. Adler and Mr. Shimp. To make this decision without any consideration for the children and their families is awful. If CPS, with all of their financial problems, debilitated buildings, etc. can manage to celebrate this same milestone for their students, you would think Yorkville, could manage to figure something out. How about using the high school for the ceremony? Or shuttle buses from the other schools? Limit the number of tickets per family? It took me 2 seconds to come up with a couple alternative options, surely the school board should be able do the same!

This is just terrible! These students deserve to be recognized for their acheivment. Parking issues ARE NOT a valid reason to ignore our childrens milestone!

Anytime decisions are made parents and community members should be part of the discussion and decision making process.

I do not have a child at this school right now, but I don't think this is right. Children have been working toward a goal of graduatiing from 8th grade for generations. It's a right of passage, please don't take this away from them. If parking is the issue, host it at another location for goodness sake!

It's a right of passage.. What is to be next? High school.. I realize there must be much more to this issue.. Are volunteers needed.. Everyone signing this needs to be part of the solution

How do you take away something away that has been a tradition for years - all because of parking? How was this accomplished every other year?

I disagree with this decision no one has the right to take away the special ceremony our children receive after a long hall of there accomplishments

Please do not lessen the meaning of this achievement for our children by taking away the traditional ceremony.
