BRING BACK WESTY

I left St Peter's in 1999 and Mr West was one of the most loved and more importantly respected teachers. He treated everyone equally and with respect and was innovative in his approach to lessons. To treat someone this way who has given so much to a school and its pupils is appauling

This has been taken out of proportion. Mr West is a fantastic teacher and St Peters are idiots for letting him go. It was an accident. Worse thinfs have happened there and teachers still have their jobs!! Losing respect for what was once a fantastic school

Surely educators listen to the pupils? If that is the case, the pupils are saying bring him back. Don't turn against the pupils by sacking a decent teacher. Every pupil gets to make mistakes and still gets support in school. Where is the support for the teacher?

Mr West was an inspiration to all students, not only did he make class enjoyable he had an excellent relationship with all his students. Whoever came to the decision oviously has not been

Very disappointed. When a great teacher uses inventive and interesting methods to engage students he is sacked? Come on St Peters this is not the school I remember.

I was fortunate enough to start my time as an NQT with Richard as my Head of Department. I would not be the teacher I am today if it wasn't for his guidance. The decision comes as a complete surprise and I fully support his appeal.

The school needs to live up to its words: “Our Academy seeks to be a worshipping Christian community built on Agape (unconditional love), Courage, Trust and Forgiveness.'

This decision MUST be reversed. The more protest there is, the better the chances

I am just so sad and disappointed about this! He is a brilliant teacher and a lovely person. I couldn't have asked for a better form tutor for my son for the last 3 years. He has supported him through his dad's death and made him smile at times when I thought not possible, not sure if this is known by school! There has been many times my son has come home and told me how great form had been that day. I think I am safe to say he misses him and the support he gives him. I never felt uncomfortable about approaching Mr West about anything and I think that makes for a kind and supportive teacher. Mr West was unfortunate to be the one who has suffered from this accident along with the child and it could have happened to any of the teachers. I feel so sorry for him and it is such a loss to the school if his isn't reinstated! He his my other sons Physics teacher and I can honestly say since he has gone, my son has not been pleased with his lessons, I do have to say though this is not due to permanent staff members, I know they are trying hard and probably struggling with the decision as well. Support should be given to them also, they have lost a colleague and friend. I feel that parents views need to be listened too as it is obvious that some of us feel that he should be reinstated. I am not going to blame anyone as I don't know how the decision was come too and I am sure he is missed by staff as well, I just hope the right thing is done now and the decision is reversed. He was my favorite teacher at St Peters, what happened was an accident and hardly enough for him to get sacked. WE NEED HIM BACK!!!

One of the best teachers. He was also struck by lightning so give him a break.

There are so many useless teachers and St Peters are stupid enough to get rid of an excellent one due to what was obviously an unfortunate and not harmful accident! Yet another ridiculous decision made by that school!

I was saddened and upset to learn that this wonderful teacher had been sacked! He inspired and encouraged my son to study physics at Manchester University. He is now a nuclear physicist with a wonderful research job which takes him all over the world. Please reinstate Mr. West

Mr west is my physic teacher for this year, I've been having cover teachers for the past few months and I've not leant anything without him. This Is worrying because I'm in year 10, doing my GCSE's and I haven't got my inspirational teacher, mr west. I had him last year and I got an A* and I was looking forward to physics this year but i won't enjoy it until mr west is brought back. He is a true legend, he needs to come back to where he belongs!

teachers strike... kids don't go to school

Being taught by teachers like Mr West was one of the main reasons I became a teacher myself. Education can not afford to lose teachers like him.

I have taken the time to read through the comments on this petition and it is clear that Richard West is a much loved inspirational teacher. School Governors and Head Teacher Mr Richards you should hang your heads in shame at this appalling decision

Mr West was one of the best teachers I have ever had. His ability to create an interesting and vibrant educational environment was what made me enjoy physics. A fantastic teacher who never failed to give me the confidence I needed to succeed.

costing a man his job, depriving children of an inspirational teacher, a harmless accident. two of these are a big deal. good luck sir on you reinstatement.

I was taught by Mr West some 17 years ago and I can still recall his lessons because he was engaging and made physics accessible. It’s extremely disappointing that years of dedicated service not only to the teaching profession but to S. Peters Collegiate can be so easily disregarded! Not very Christian. I think it is nothing short of shambolic that a truly inspirational professional can have his good name and career rubbished. I hope that common sense and decency will prevail or it will be to the detriment of future pupils.
