Mr West was truely the most inspirational teacher I had from nursery school to post graduate. There is only one Mr West and it's deeply sadening how little the school appear to appreciate him.

I think it is an outrage that the school have sacked a valid member of staff over this. If the school wants to maintain its reputation then they seriously need to reconsider their actions.

Mr West had a direct impact on my life through his involvement in duke of Edinburgh, leading trips to the Pyrenees and of course A Level Physics. His attitude and commitment to the students is an example that should be followed not only by the rest of the school but by the rest if the country. I have a first class engineering degree and live in Val d'Isere , France. It is undeniable that I am here today thanks to Mr West

gross over reaction to the sacking of a wonferful teacher who INSPIRED many pupils and made physics relevent and interesting. Hope this makes a difference.

Accidents unfortunately happen in any practical based subject. The day that all accidents are eliminated will be the day when practicals are eliminated (which should never happen). The important part was no one was hurt and it was unintentional. One incident shouldn't ruin a career full of such good service.

Mr West was and clearly still is a first class educator; innovative, unconventional and - most of all - effective. The Principal and Governors of St Peters have made a poor decision in removing him from his post; a decision which can only stymie innovation and risk-taking in the classroom and one which, ultimately, will only harm the education of students. I urge the Principal and Governors to reflect on this and reconsider their decision.
