The accuser is a documented proven liar. She lied to get her job. Yet her employer (a taxpayer funded university) is notmaking HER resign while Sir Tim got forced into retirement because he said something in a presentation that a vast minority of people thought was not correct.

We need to tackle those irrational PC people. The person who brought Prof. Tim to his resignation should be held to account. She lied so that she could get to where she is. The whole thing is so wrong in victimising someone in this way. What happened to the circumstance, the context and the manner in which how those comments were made - if these factors were considered before judging someone is guilty. The Head of UCL made a very unscientific judgement as well. Prof Tim made those comments in a fond way and there was never an intention to cause stress to anyone.

Where were ERC & UCL in considering their duty of care towards Tim Hunt? How can anyone allow their children, or themselves to be exposed to such malign institutions.

We all have a duty to stand up to on-line bullying and make careful considered decisions - not knee jerk reactions based on uninformed lynch mobs. Come on, scientists should know about the importance of evidence!

If things said in irony, casual or full of intellectually playful are 'always' offensive when it is about gender (or religion, etc.) than the beginning of the end of humanity (with a brain) is near !

I cant believe this even happened, I feel like people went crazy due to some kind PC virus or something.
First "Shirt Gate" when Matt Tylor crying apologised for the shirt his female friend made for him.
Then Dongle Gate when dudes lost their job and ended up ostracised, some other cases of PC idiots attacking and slandering people and now this...
If this is what feminism amounts to, a bunch of red-haired women screaming at people and misrepresenting everything to fit their agenda better.
I have no words to explain how disappointed I am by this new witch hunt where men are being hunted and if they are unlucky enough to be white - burned alive.

In order for UCL to show that it holds equality as paramount, and abhors sexism, then it really has no option but to sack Connie St Louis, who has been proven to not only distort the facts of the incident in question, but to have lied on her CV.
