Do some quick fact checking and it becomes apparent that this is just one of many lies that Connie St. Louis has been caught in. Why is there hardly any media attention now that the real story is out there?? There is still plenty of scandal for the press to eat up, and this scandal actually happens to have truth in it!! We need people to HELP EXPOSE CONNIE ST. LOUIS! I'm all for taking down sexists but it only hurts the cause when someone knowingly frames and lynches an innocent person...

I believe in fighting sexism, but hounding a scientist for an "old-fashioned" comment is not the way to do it: to do so is blinkered and actually undermining the cause of feminism.

This matter was thoroughly mishandled by the media, social and otherwise. Sir Tim has in fact advocated for women in science, married a female scientist, and was joking when he said the impugned phrase that was so irresponsibly taken out of context. *Everyone* says things that, taken out of context, appear on their face to be horrible; it is not fair to be subjected to a witch-hunt for that reason. If there is any integrity left in the academic community, Sir Tim will be reinstated.

Hunt was defamed. Indeed, in the US he would be able to sue for the defamation.
Not to reinstate it is to reinforce the privilege of what we call Yellow Journalism. Hardly a position that a University should be supporting.
Show some backbone, support the truth and bring the man back.

The tyranny of the mob does indeed appear to be the worst tyranny of all. These are sad days for all of us, even the deranged, who know not what they do. I really miss sanity in this World, it used to be so kind and wise. Is there any way we can encourage it to come back?
