As a woman, I think the firing of this man was a little over the top. He never said women shouldn't be scientests and the reality is when working together women and men do socialize. And quite honestly, I have seen many more women cry at criticism than men. In fact women cry more than men in general, so does that really require a firing?

I'm a woman and I despise sexist misogyny but I really can't see that this remark is anything other than a joke. For god's sake women grow up and stop embracing the humourless. culture of victim hood that pervades the country today. What about real and gross injustices to women? Lunatic religions, fgm, rape, the list goes on. Leave this man alone and deal with those who really do threaten women. You make me ashamed to call myself a feminist. Reinstate him - you might one day need the benefit of his work.

An immediate dismissal for an ill advised candid comment, which I personally interpret an effort to relax an audience! Universities in support of humorless complainers. Nothing to learn here but denunciation.
