I have been a victim of the PC Gestapo. I fully support Sir Tim's reinstatement.

He should be re-instated with immediate effect - the world simply cannot afford to lose such a brilliant mind. Far too many people currently wish to be 'victims of something' that someone said, might have said or their interpretation of what was said is twisted to their own dark ends.

There is nothing wrong with this comment...it was a joke. Tim Hunt is just one more victim of the baying Twitter lynch mob...he deserves an apology from UCL and immediate reinstatement.

A man or woman's worth should be measured by his or her entire life's work--not a few stupid jokes made when one is nervous. Give the poor guy a break.

This man did not deserve to lose his job over a simple mistake. What kind of message is that sending to the young people in STEM fields?

After a lifetime in academe and from birth, courtesy of an excellent father, encouraged by a variety of men to fulfill by intellectual potential, I am repulsed by the whinging over protected and indulged brigade self-identified as 'feminist'. We are truly at the end of civilization as we have known it when respected academic institutions 'bow the neck' to this abhorrent blackmail.
Re-instate Tim Hunt immediately; let us retain some vestige of honour and intellectual enlightenment.

Whether it was a joke or not is irrelevant. Universities have a duty to defend free speech, however disagreeable the content.

As a former lecturer, though not in
science, I understand how easy it
is to be misunderstood by a very
large audience. Attempting English

big mistake however well intentioned.

There are too many people just waiting for an opportunity to take offence and announce their moral outrage. The man made a joke - not even a particularly good one - and has lost his career. Even worse, his students have lost a mentor and a brilliant mind will wither before its time. Re-instate Tim Hunt now and let's move on from this ridiculousness.

What he said was a joke. If lesbian feminist women can't take a joke, then they are the joke. Reinstate Tim!
I resist mob rule.
