Wow.. so a physiologist told a bad joke and it's being taken out of context? People suck.

He was the victim of prejudice, shoddy journalism and uninformed knee-jerk reactions. Restore this excellent man's former good reputation.

I want to live in a world where ironic jokes made to be appreciated in an intelligent adult way, are not twisted to discredit someone for the exact opposite meaning. From what I can tell by the research done- sadly after the event, this man has been unfairly judged.

Poor lazy journalism has led to this state of affairs. Bring him back to UCL, Royal Society and ERC

We can´t destroy a scientist because he said something stupid. This is a over reaction! I wish people do this any time a politician steals public money!

It is a true shame that a good scientist can be fired for a joke, out of context. We must encourage men like Tim Hunt to teach, not scare them.

Tim Hunt was a Nobel Laureate, one of the smartest people in the world. It is shameful that such a stigma could be placed upon him with total disregard for the facts, based on nothing more than some petty, reactionary comments in social media. Does academia now consider such significant intellectual contribution to science worth less than comments on twitter?

Liberals always claim views that counter their own are a result of some sort of ignorance. When you have to discipline a scientific Nobel Laureate, to appease liberals or social-justice-warriors, then the offending view can no longer be deemed ignorant. The Laureates are the wisest, smartest and most cognitive of us all. If Tim Hunt's work resulted in a medicine that could save my life and the lives of millions of others, I wouldn't care at all about his personal beliefs.

"Social justice warriors" are ruining feminism. Please reinstate Tim Hunt, and please take everything these extremists say with a grain of salt in the future.

It was the reaction against Prof Hunt's comments that were "insulting" to women by treating us as though we are so immature as to take offence at humour!

The fellow 'academics' who tried and condemned Tim Hunt purely on social media comments, without establishing the facts are the ones who should lose their jobs!

It was a silly and unfortunate joke made to an audience of journalists. Social media trials are the last thing we need.

End this ridiculous PC feminist progressive liberal crap now. Only someone who is completely delusional and mentally ill would support this kind of rubbish. Reinstate Sir Tim Hunt immediately and beg his forgiveness.

Deeply shamed by the knee jerk reaction, even if he turns out to be the ultra misogynist people said he is, he deserved a hearing and a fair defense...

Actual audio snippets and a fabulous forensic dissection of the web of self-supporting lies are available at: http://unfashionista.com/2015/07/21/the-silence-of-the-shams-wcsj2015-falsely-reported-sir-tim-hunt/

It is totally evident that Tim Hunt was shamelessly quoted out of context and has been very badly treated over this affair.

The accusations under which he was forced to resign don't describe the reality. If you label as "misogynist" someone who has clearly supported women in their career, something is wrong with you.
