Reinstate Sir Tim Hunt to his job, with an apology.

It is clear in the wider context that has emerged from all the publicity surrounding this incident that Professor Hunt has been the victim of an unseemly rush to judgement in response to uninformed anger by crusaders with an ax to grind and no concern for who got hurt in the process. Reinstating Hunt and publicly admitting bad judgement in firing him can help to rectify the situation.

I'm a girl and this entire campaign against Tim Hunt is horrible. I'm highly irritated with how sensitive people are with the most insignificant of comments. When you criticize women, they cry--joke or not, that is exactly what happened with all this backlash! Lol! Seriously though, what is happening to universities these days to want to bend backwards to satisfy these demonic feminists? Thought UCL would be above this.

The whole affair has reflected very badly on UCL and other bodies. Reinstate Sir Tim with an apology.

He was merely speaking the truth, albeit in an exaggerated manner.

I am a UCL graduate of the class of 1970. In the light of the recent findings about Connie St Louise Tim Hunt should be reinstated . The precipitous action of my old college does not reflect well on the decision makers or the college as a whole.

I trust that UCL will be taken to a Trubunal where the truth will emerge about this whole sorry business.

Disgraceful turn of events for an honourable man. UCL should accept they made an error of judgement and rectify it without delay.

Harmless joke that lead to the hordes of screeching oversensitive losers getting an eminent scientist to resign. Sometimes it's a pathetic world we live in, egh?

In the current climate of political correctness, the remarks were bound to be taken out of context and so may have been ill-advised. However the responses by UCL and other learned bodies are totally disproportionate and Sir Tim Hunt should be offered reinstatement.
