Mondelez has confirmed they are reverting to the original Bassett's recipe starting next quarter. We achieved this outcome because the data provided to their product team left them no room to pivot. I will keep this page active until the first of the original batches hits store shelves.

Bassett's winegums were known for its unique taste and texture. Loved all around the world.

What does the marketing geniuses at Mondelez do?

They change it beyond recognition!

What's left is a bland, boring and generic soft candy?! It does not deserve to be called winegums.

Mondelez, apparantly, doesn't have a clue about the concept of unique selling point..

Bring back the original now!!

The volume of support has now reached a scale that demands a formal response from their product development team. I am drafting a letter to the Mondelez corporate office to request a meeting regarding the original recipe reversal.

Please change them back. Wine gums used to be the best sweet ever. I would always buy them. Now they taste soapy, their texture is wrong and they are a disappointing shadow of their former selves.

I haven't bought winegums since the change to the Maynards flavor and texture. None of my friends like them and i used to load up on them in duty free, literally bringing an extra bag for the quantity.

Sad moment for me. Sitting here at Heathrow, waiting for my flight and just bought 2 bags of wine gums. They have nothing to do with the taste and consistency from my memory, when I was a small child. Will not buy them again until they go back to the original recipe.

Not much to say really, the best winegum is gone... How can you do that? When u have something unique, don't destroy it, instead of making them cheaper so u can earn more money, raise the price, most would pay to have that uniqueness that Bassets had.

A piece of my heart died that day when I tasted the ”new” bassets winegums. It’s so sad, it’s so stupid. When I mailed them after that awful discovery they told me they did it for the customers. Now that was a big fat lie. At least they could have told me the truth!

Fully agree. I don't buy them anymore. At least be honest: the so-called "New Recipe" is just the Maynards. Trivial candies, the same as many others. If the old ones come back, I will buy again.
