The American International School provides an optional Bus Transport facility for its students.
Historically, the bus service offers “One way” and “Two way” transport.
Two-way (Round Trip): Parents pay the full amount for having the student picked up from home AND dropped off to home. This service is priced at 500-550KD per year.
One-way: Parents can opt for the bus service to pick up the student from home OR drop the student to his/her home. This was offered with a 50% payment. This service is priced at 250-275KD per year. This service is commonly used among working parents who drop their child on their way to work and have the bus drop them back home.
As of 2016, the AIS administration has decided to remove the “One – Way” Bus Transport option, thus forcing all parents to pay the full amount, regardless if they need the round trip service or not.
This poses as a costly form of transport for some parents, especially if you have 2 or more children, that is over 1,000KD a year. This forces parents to find alternative options such as Taxi/Driver services, which will increase the traffic in the school vicinity and are not as safe and reliable as the bus service.

One way option should always be available to be at par with standard norms , removing it is pure unfair
This is not acceptable at all. My son is registered with the bus since KG1 and I use to pay for him only KD170/- Now he is in grade 2, and when I came to school to pay the first installment, all of a sudden I was told to pay KD500/- for bus!!! I'm an expat and I work till 6 and school fees are more than enough for me to cover.
I would like to keep on the one way option
I would really appreciate if we can have the option of one way.

The bus fees are too expensive. We need the one way service
You cannot just twist the parents arm to give in to all your changes...just be logical while coming up with such idea...do a proper case study and compare results...nothe everything is business !

We would appreciate if you bring back to the option of one way to help us financially and to give us a chance to spend time with our kids while taking them to school. Thank you
