The council should not skimp on public bus services if they want to promote people to use it.

standing on an overcrowded public bus that takes over an hour to get me home when it should take 20 minutes shouldn’t be the case. it is extremely stressful for younger students who are new to the system especially when the bus isn’t at school at the end of the day to pick us up. no kid should have to worry about how they’re getting home when the buses were reliable before. please change them back.

The new system is useless. Too many buses with two or three people on. How can is be working. If council is trying to encourage people to use buses due to lack of parking this scheme ain't working

This issue needs to be addressed urgently the idea of buses is to take pressure off roads and now parents are racing all over because of the bus issues. School bus runs should take priority

The current 'system is an unmitigated disaster.
This needs fixing before a child comes to harm. Those responsible for this mess need to step up or be held accountable.

School bus route from CBD to Aquinas was replaced with a 7.40am run on the Publuc Route 1 which was supposed to unload at the school. Didnt come through for first 4 days of term. Lodged complaint and council assured me school routes were a priority. Had missed this route because it was part of the public Route 1 service, not a designated school bus. This morning was the first time the bus came on time.... Fingers crossed it continues.

Tauranga / Western Bay urgently needs its original FREE SCHOOL bus service reinstated. Currently bus service fragmentation and the cost of school
Buses is adding huge stress on already stressed families plus adding significant congestion to our roads at peak times.
BRING BACK THE FREE SCHOOL BUSES please

As parents we were asked our opinions about the bus routes. We said we were happy with them except they were no longer free. I have no idea why they were changed. My kids now have to walk 30 minutes to catch a bus that so far hasn’t turned up and when it does, there are no seats so they and 17 other students have to regularly stand for the one hour trip. They are standing on buses that travel on roads that have 100 kmh speed limits. If things don’t change back to the previous routes, I will avoid the school bus network and be forced to add to Tauranga’s traffic issues. Was that the desired outcome?

We live in Papamoa East and my girls go to TGC. catching a bus at 7.05am and arriving at school at 8.25 if they're lucky. Catch a bus home at 3.22 if it shows and arrive back in Pap East anytime from 4.45 onwards, depending on if the bus shows up or not. Makes for a very long day, where if a dedicated bus service to the Tauranga Boys and Girls College's was available it would cut down on the amount of time on the road and the congestion of picking up when the bus doesn't show, also the knowing of whether the bus was going to arrive or not
