Unfortunately I have not experience the old system as my daughter has just started Otumoetai college. but I have experienced rescuing as many kids as I can from the roadside because the bus did not turn up and parents have already gone to work. At least they had cell phones to inform us. I am nervous for the younger ones who cant make contact left on the roadside.

My kids are lucky enough to get the free bus from welcome bay however the first few weeks it got the kids to school late, theres no room on the bus so my kids have to stand & one day after school half the kids got left behind as they physically couldt fit them on! Surprise surprise I mean honestly did they think the free buses would all of a sudden be overcrowded? Not to mention today it came super early & they missed it altogether! The old system was so much better, the regular driver knew all the kids, the route & they were safe

school hopper bus leaves earlier gets to school later and first day never arrived. bay hopper has not turned up on numerous occasions, my children are walking further to catch the bus and for more direct route home they would have to change buses mid route.

I agree that free school buses are a must to get congestion off the roads. Please bring them back.

We have a dedicated school bus so I suppose we are "lucky" except they changed the public buses so more kids now HAVE to catch the school bus. Now half of Pap East isn't allowed to catch the school bus because there are too many kids. Bring back the 36 to Pap East and it will solve the problem.

Over 50 children waiting for the Number 1 bus that was meant to get to Aquinas at 3.25pm. Never turned up! After ringing the bus company apparently the driver didn’t know he was meant to stop at Aquinas. This is unacceptable and unsafe for our children. I picked my son up and three others as that’s all I could fit in my car. We need the school buses reinstated asap!!

My children are struggling with the new bus system and I also feel sorry for the elderly having to use the buses with school children in great numbers getting on which could be intimidating. This is not even going into the issues of bus running schedules

Kids left stranded is no joke. The elderly in the hot sun is no joke. People in wheelchairs unable to get in a bus is no joke. Trained, qualified and unemployed bus drivers turned away by NZ bus is no joke. Get the kids their own buses and we will reduce congestion drastically. And fix the rest of this mess at the same time NZ Bus. You won a contract in our city, so prove you can do it or bugger right off.

I have sent emails predicting the mess this bus system would procure, but they were dismissed. The traffic is worse, the buses overloaded, not turning up or late. My 10 year old hates it now as it is too long and leaves at a rediculously early time because the bus has to cross the Hairini intersection 3 times no doubtedly adding to the congestion.

Buses should be a safe, reliable transport option for our kids.
