I signed the permission slip, just like all the other parents. Yes, he should have previewed the movie, but no, he should not have been forced to resign because of one uptight kid. No harm was done! He was an awesome teacher. Three of my kids had him. My son, and numerous other students are devastated. They have been told by administration that this petition will make no difference. If they stage a walkout they will get in trouble because they are trying to stand up for a teacher they love, who was unjustly forced to quit, rather try to take our gun rights away(that they can walk out for). If they call the news channels it may hurt Mr. Maxwell. The school kept this all hush hush. I'm sure we could have filled that meeting (with the school board I presume) with parents ready and willing to stand up for him. After 29 years, I am so glad that in a few weeks I will be finished with this school district!

Mr. Maxwell is a guy who really cares about his students and his athletes. He would never have intentionally shown something that he knows is so traumatic to so many people and the punishment for his mistake should reflect this. Without him people will be missing out on a fun and unique experience in one of his classes or on a team.

My daughter’s Attend Hillsboro school district but have a very similar class. As a parent you should be reading what you’re signing. I signed a very similar piece of paper that stated my daughter would be seeing some very sensitive material in that class and signed it. No teachers should lose their job when they have taken precautions and Warrned students and then given them the opportunity to step out.

Mr. Maxwell is one of the reasons I went on to study journalism in college. He is a professional, caring and inspirational man who had been teaching at Northwest longer than most. This decision is undeserving, considering he followed procedure. Mr. Maxwell genuinely cares about his students and young journalists. You have not only ruined a man's career but his reputation as well.

Mr. Maxwell was one of my guiding forces to where I am today. He got me into writing and pushed me to really purse what I really wanted to do, which is radio. He told me at the start when I was in school that I would do it and be good and thanks to him I am here. He didn't deserve this. BRING BACK MAXWELL PLEASE

Maxwell and I may not have gotten along in while I was enrolled in his class or on the track team. But he was a good teacher, and hilarious, a good one for northwest.

I don't know what happened? Can someone fill me in. Mr. Maxwell was a mentor a someone who helped me through school in rough times! I took two years of journalism and learned a lot! Infact the only reason I would ever come back to visit my old school. Hope he gets his job back. You can get rid of him but Bobby Max has over a decade of newspaper publications at that school!

I've known Mr.Maxwell for going on 7 years and he is a great teacher! Plus people need to quit being so insensitive, he was showing something for educational purposes and made em sign a document giving consent. Bring him back!

Maxwell was one of the greatest teachers northwest has ever had . My junior year he pushed me to be the best i could at writing and I kept trying and trying till I got an A and when I was getting bullied really bad he was literally the only teacher who was there for me and let me be in his room during lunch cause I didn't like going to the cafeteria . He doesn't deserve this all because some girl can't be pull up her big girl panties . She had the chocie to leave but no instead she decided to complain . He deserves to come back . We will all miss him so much
