Kate Greenaway was a major influence on all illustrators of MY time (i'm 55), and before (even if they don't realize it!). Please give the award name back

As an illustrator and ex-bookseller I very familiar with the Greenaway Medal and the good it has done in building awareness in children’s lit. It beggars belief that this name change has happened.

Stop changing things for the sake of it. If you wish some one to be on the name of the award make a new award.

How disappointing to see an institution removing a woman's name from a very public and high honor. I hope the committee will consider public input and not only return the name, but involve the community before making other decisions like this in the future.

This renaming is the a typical example of suppression the recognition of women and their major contribution to society. In this case it's worse as it's a UK women who was working in, at the time, a very male dominated field. Anybody who supported this renaming should probably move to the USA and support Donald Trump.

Please bring back Kate Greenaway’s name to the children’s illustration medal. Women who are illustrators still struggle for recognition and restoring Kate’s name would recognize and affirm the accomplishments of a famous pioneering female children’s book illustrator and bring honor to medalists.
