As has been said, I would buy a book based on the Kate Greenaway name as I know what it stands for. I had no idea it had been removed from this medal, which is now meaningless.

Quite aside from the legacy and love for this illustrator, I would buy a book based on the Kate Greenaway name. Why lose such a marketing gem???

I’m sorry but “Yoto”?! Since when did we become just like every other book prize?! I’m a librarian & I want the Book prize which is judged by Librarians to be named as it was when it was set up!

Shocking that CILIP should consider removing this prestigious name, disrespectful to past winners and to women generally.

Kate Greenaway ‘s illustrations are unique and immediately recognisable. I loved them as a child and still do.

Why on earth would you do this?! Not only recognising a significant female illustrator but negating the value of a long established and recognised brand” ? As a librarian, previous chair of YLG and the CKG judging panel this seems an ill thought out idea.

Pictures are the very beginning of literacy - something to be celebrated and recognised for what they are, not just "sponsored"

A very poor decision to remove the name of an illustrator and replace it with a sponsor.
