This award and its historic name honouring a wonderful and renowned illustrator, is particularly famous to librarians throughout the world. Changing such a long-held name renders it meaningless. Please don’t.

A medal for illustration named after an industrialist and a corporation makes no sense whatsoever. This is female erasure in return for money.

Erasing the name of one of the greatest illustrators from a prize that is internationally known by her name is just rank stupidity.

As a former children’s librarian I am appalled at this decision. Please restore the name of an iconic female illustrator to this award

Another iconic illustrator removed from our culture. It should be brought back immediately. The influence that Kate Greenaway has on modern illustrators is immense. Illustrators are given a raw deal at the best of times so this should be the occasion to celebrate them

Why change the name of a prestigious, meaningful award FROM a great woman illustrator?
Not in my name.

Kate Greenaway was an illustrator and hugely influential in developing children's literature. Andrew Carnegie was a philanthropist and gave many libraries etc. Why change something which works?

This change to a corporate name is really insensitive and against the spirit of the medal. Do not we have enough corporate branding and backlash against women’s achievements?

Replacing the name of a Illustrator (any illustrator) by an industrial brand is completely inappropriate.
