There should have been a decent consultation on this - a significant female illustrator has been erased from the domain.

You have erased the name of an exceptional and accomplished working class woman in favour of the name of a man and an audio tech company. I'm sure it must be a mistake.

I can only echo Greenaway's extreme importance in the history of British and Victorian book illustration, something I hope CILIP will support.

It's insulting to take Kate Greenaway's name away from this medal in favour of a figure who has had enough attention already. Please reconsider!

It would be a shame to change the name of this splendid award in the way you propose. As a book historian and lover of illustrated book I protest!

I have heard of the Kate Greenaway medal, probably as early as my teenage years when I first thought of becoming a writer and illustrator of children's picture. It is a great mistake to change this name. Female illustrators need more recognition and especially those as qualified as Kate Greenaway. In good conscience I hope you consider changing the name back to a person who truly better personifies what this award stands for. Thank you.

I do research to preserve the memory of women in publishing, here they are erasing it!

Enough of things being named after money, and more of being named for what they represent!!

It is 2023, why are we still fighting to have women's work recognised. There should be no gender gap. Kate Greenaway should not be forgotten.
