Trust me if the school board walked into the orchestra room with mr Griffith and his students just for a minute they would instantly change their mind.

Music is so important and as a future music educator, we are not interchangeable. You need a specific Orchestra director.

I don’t play in the orchestra, but I know many people who claim he is a great teacher. I also don’t think that the band teachers are going to be sufficient in teaching all the orchestra students because their expertise in only band (Sorry Mr. Buckley, Mr. Ozsvath and Ms. Reiss).

One should not expect one teacher to be able to properly teach both band and orchestra. It is simply too much work for one teacher to give that many music students a proper education.

Mr. Griffith is AMAZING!!! my daughter had the amazing opportunity in 8th grade to have him his first year. He had and has such a passion for orchestra that it outpoured onto the students. My daughter who is now in her sophomore year at BHS still, to this day, thinks her experience with him as director was wonderful. I always look forward to seeing RMS orchestra perform with BHS so we can see what a wonderful job he continues to do. This will be the 3rd orchestra director in 7yrs!!! That is VERY upsetting for the RMS orchestra community. Here we have the best one in 7yrs and he is let go!!! OUTRAGEOUS!!!

I couldn’t agree more! Mr. Griffith is such an incredible teacher and so loved by his students.

We need to support the music program, which gets better every year with dedicated teachers who find time for our children. Students need more individual approach and directions from the music teachers too, and by decreasing the teacher:student ratio there is more loss than gain. Music is practice with directions!

My granddaughter has had him for an orchestra teacher for three years. Her interest in music has grown each year. I am a retired teacher and the first time I saw him I knew he was a special teacher. If you let him go you losing someone who cannot be replaced

GET RID OF THE BAND TEACHER

To have a teacher that ignites passion and enthusiasm for music as this teacher clearly does would be a terrible loss for not only his students but for the Batavia school system. Where does the high school think they are going to get students excited and looking forward to becoming a part of their program?

Music is an important part of students success. You are showing students the orchestra is less important than other music groups.

Music is honestly the most important thing in a child’s life, so no one deserves the power to take that right from students in need of it.
