RMS Orchestra was the first orchestra I was ever a part of. I was very lucky to have Mrs. Kazda as my conductor. She instilled a love of music that I will carry for the rest of my life. Mr. Griffith seems to bring the same inspiration to his students. Please do not let such a gift to your program go.

I strongly support retaining Chris Griffith as Orchestra Director of Rotolo Middle School. I am in awe of the enthusiastic response of students under his direction. Only a dedicated and experienced orchestra director sustain our students. One of the jewels of the Batavia School system is deep development of future generations who know how to participate in orchestra. Many students that respond to orchestra are not drawn to the noise of a band. Orchestra students are exposed to instruments, hear and contribute to making music for others; learn to play modern and historical music; learn how to work well with others, know how watch and take direction from one baton that manages many voices. An orchestra director leads all from the quietest oboe to the layered sonorous sound of strings, from deep bass notes to the human-like voices that resonate inside us, as we listen.

My grandson, Theo, is in Orchestra at Rotolo and doing great! My husband and I hope that Theo continues with his violin long into his future. All the kids in Rotolo Orchestra deserve a strong teacher like Mr. Griffith and not have to settle for a teacher whose specialation is brass and woodwind instruments. A strong example will set their future. We hope this decision will be reconsidered. Thank you!

Mr. Griffith is such a great piece of our awesome music program and if he leaves next year lots of kids including me, will be less enthusiastic about orchestra because he is such a great teacher and has a really great personality. Please don't make a mistake and reinstate Mr. Griffith.

I am a band teacher myself, and removing a string teacher from a program and replacing them with a band teacher is doing a disservice to the students. After reading comments on how valued Chris is to families at this school, it is apparent how influential he is; the program will not be the same once he is gone.

Mr.G is agreat teacher and letting him go is one of the worst decisions the district has ever made . Mr.G helps us in ways a band teacher could not . Letting him go has a huge impact on all the kids , and me . Mr.G is a great teacher, one of the best that I have ever had . Seeing him leave breaks me and I am sure all the other orchestra kids as well . We Love you Mr.G !!!
