Music and our music teachers are so very important to the students of our schools. And just because they are all music classes does not mean they are the same. Just as much as Mr. Griffith deserves his job, the orchestra students deserve an orchestra director and the band directors deserve to teach band just as they love to do.

I am a BHS Band Alumni and I STRONGLY disagree with the absence of a jr high orchestra director. I believe it is a crucial role that many students require.

Griffith is amazing. Keep him. I’ve heard really good things from sister. She loved him. He’s a good musician.

Mr. Griffith has been such a positive influence on my daughter’s music career. He has made a life long impact. What a talented musician, patient and skilled teacher! He is the perfect role model for our children and has given so much to our community and Batavia school program.

So I just need to point this out, the school has posters in the exploratory hallway saying that students in music classes usually do better than the average student. If they fire him, there will possibly be less students in music classes, even though they’re encouraging students to join those classes. PLEASE LET HIM STAY!!!!!

He is the most qualified music teacher at RMS to teach ORCHESTRA. He teaches music and teaches us life skills and how to be our best in everything. He keeps us engaged EVERY day.

I hope this helps. They let go a bunch LD teacher assistants in our district that will effect our students who need the additional help and attention.

Listen, Mr. Griffith isn't my teacher, and I have never been the biggest fan of orchestra. But, I know for a fact that Mr. Griffith is great at his job, and is a light to the RMS community. He deserves this job more than any band teacher does.

I see that RMS was awarded being a school to watch. After trying to limit exploritories if you choose music and now this. Is this from district admin., school admin or board? We have achieved Grammy award winning status. We have amazing parents support. We've had greats that the kids respond to, both musically and when other teachers dont know the path music students need. Mr. Griffith is up there with Mr. Willey an Mr. Stiers. He connects with them.

If this is a money thing, here's an idea...stop giving the high school football team brand new uniforms every. Single. YEAR. When you can't afford to help the music program. Batavia has one of the best music programs and we could be better if the school could wake up and realize it. I appreciate the ones who do care. I was an athlete and I was heavily involved in the music program and it was hard seeing the music program not well appreciated. If you literally have to let go of a teacher, then you better let go of little things like getting brand new uniforms every single year.

Great programs thrive under great influence and that can't happen if our music teachers get fired
