Mr. Griffith inspired me to continue in orchestra and gave me a passion for my instrument. Please don’t let him go!!

This is stupid. Everyone loves Mr Griffith and he's a great dude. People should care as much about music as they do about sports.

Orchestra students need an orchestra teacher/conductor not a band one.

This will be a major hit to the music program. I was at a 5th grade concert years ago and watched the enthusiasm and obvious love for music he displayed. I remember thinking, "I'm so glad he'll be teaching my kids in the future!" I hope this decision will be reconsidered. Mr. Griffith is one in a million and the impact of his absense will be greatly felt.

Music is an essential component in many of our Batavia students’ lives. This is a huge mistake to let this talented teacher go.

My child has been in orchestra since 5th grade and is now a Sophomore. Playing in the orchestra has taught him so many valuable life lessons and built his confidence extraordinarily. It teaches children how to work together in the most beautiful way. Children need music and arts. They are keys to their development. Please reconsider and give your students the healing gift of music.

Mr. Griffith is likely the only reason I still play cello today. As an intermediate schooler, I was far more invested in choir than orchestra, and considered dropping it after on year of trying it out. But Mr. Griffith encourages everyone on such an individual and positive basis that it didnt even cross my mind after day one. I can’t inagine being a young instrumentalist with a teacher not specializing in my instrument. There is no way they could provide the same support.

Just curious why they keep cutting back on the arts yet sports keeps getting heavily funded.

Mr. Griffith is the reason my nephew (Ryken Hukmani) has stayed in this program!

Good music education is critical in our "lowest common denominator" society.

Why always prioritize sports over music?

It would be a tragedy if the students. as well as the citizens of Batavia. lose this caring compassionate teacher. The music program will not recover from this.

The school administration is talking out of both sides of their mouths. We have a high quality music program in BPS 101. Replacing a trained orchestra instructor with a band instructor is a poor decision which bruises our wonderful music program!
