One of the things that distinguishes Batavia from neighboring communities is its outstanding music program. Our daughter was offered a position at the STEM Partnership School, and she turned it down primarily because she wanted to continue to play violin in the Rotolo orchestra under Mr. Griffith’s direction. Mr. Griffith is a superb music teacher, his skill and dedication apparent to anyone who has heard his orchestra perform. We are lucky to have him. I urge the Batavia School District to reverse this ill-conceived decision and to retain Mr. Griffith.

Wow! I would never have expected for this to grow so quickly as it has. But we can't stop now! We have to keep going and get more signatures to ensure that Mr. Griffith will be reinstated. Perhaps we can even go further by raising money for both this cause and for the Batavia Music Program. Music is an essential part of Batavia's education system. We can't let lacks of funding affect things such as this. We must keep going. Post this petition on Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and reddit. Tell your family, friends, and co-workers. We need to spread the word; Everything we do now will mean the future of the Batavia Music Program. Reinstate Griffith!

Music in Batavia is one of our shining lights. Please don't be the generation that diminishes this program, one that has been so strong for decades. I don't know the teacher, but eliminating the position is a big mistake.

It would be a huge loss to the school and the students to not have Mr. Griffith next year. His love of music and teaching is evident.
