Disgraceful no plastic bins and now the recycle centre gets another increase to 4 euro . Does the council want people to recycle or is it just more money they are after and to get an award for the dirtiest town in ireland

There has been a visible increase in illegal dumping around the town since this was put in place, and it's only going to get worse. You can't tell people to recycle their plastic bottles and then remove the most convenient way of doing it!! Some people can't get to the recycling centre. It just makes no sense! There'll be council meetings about the impact of illegal dumping around the town and how to tackle it, and they'll have no one to blame but themselves!

The litter problem in Drogheda is steadily worsening. Removing these bins is simply making a bad situation worse.

I do all my recycling in the recycling centre every 2 months but now that the local plastic bins are gone it is very difficult for me to manage my plastic recycling efficiently.

With the €1.00 increase at the recycling centres and the ridiculous ban on reclcying plastics at the community recycling banks, perhaps louth council should advertise that this county welcomes fly tipping and encourages littering.

It was daft of Louth CO Co to get rid of the bottle banks & and as a friend of Ann McVeigh's I saw the disgraceful pic she posted on F/B highlighting the fact that bottles have been dumped at St Catherine's steps in Drogheda.

Most ludicrous thing local councils done. This service shold be restored immediately and should never have been withdrawn.

I litter pick for a mile either side of my rural house every week. Every two weeks I have a large black bag of plastic bottles that I used to bring to the bottle bank. I no longer pick up plastic bottles, as I refuse to pay to have them dosed of at my cost - we pay lee lift of the bins. This council official seems to answer to nobody. What kind of an organisation has a chief with, apparently, dictator like powers?

It would be great to have this service back
