Bring back the 170 bus route in Battersea

Lost without the ability to get to Clapham Junction!!!!

The 170 route serves numerous schools. Diverting it forces children (and parents) to walk much further and along busy roads. The new route is heavily congested and polluted - and is served by at least four other bus routes. Please reinstate the 170 route asap.

This route is critical as there are not other routes that cover the same destinations in close proximity across the current 170 route. Must be retained, as essential to commuters. Always a very busy route.

This is an extremely useful service for residents in Battersea Church Road, Morgans Walk ,Vicarage Crescent and all the adjacent blocks of flats who need to get to Clapham Junction station but have mobility issues.

This bus route is critical for access to the train station, medical centre and the closest shopping area. I see many people, old and young using it and it is always full. We are positioned in a difficult transport area as it is and this is the one golden nugget which enables easier travel. The 170 is our friend and is one of the fundamental reasons we chose to buy here. Please bring it back.

This is a vital bus route for many, it is the only bus route that travels along this route and it’s ridiculous that it was ended without consultation.

This is a critical service for residents to access the rail network. How else do TfL propose we are to get Clapham Junction - by Uber?!

This bus is our life-line. For residents living in Vicarage Crescent, there is a very long walk to any other service. If the bus can pass under the RR arch coming from Clapham Junction, why can't it pass under the arch going west?

As an octogenarian living in Vicarage Crescent the 170 bus is a vital form of transport, the nearest bus stop is now at least half a mile, plus, away and can be treacherous for older people walking on icy roads!!

My husband is confined to a wheelchair. How can he now make it to doctors appointments? TfL gave no proper notification nor consultation before this service was suspended. As a result of one of TfL’s employees not doing their job properly it results in this new style bus which is deemed unsafe by H&S but most importantly, the loss of freedom for all those who rely on this service.

No brainer

This will result in the over 65s being marooned in their homes.

Please reinstate the service

We Battersea residents very much rely on this route. It must be back to normal as soon as possible.

I am old woman and this changing for the 170 bus make it to hard for me to see some friends because I have to walk from battersea bridge to lombard road.

The 170 is a lifeline for our corner of Battersea

How incompetent that TFL has a) wasted money onrecently buying buses that apparently are too tall, even though single decker buses, to fit under bridges b) have absolutely no regard for the needs of people living on the 170 route which has no other buses servicing significant parts of it c) ignored the large quantity if new blocks of flats which have been built on Lombard Road who also expected to have the continued use of this well established route. d) have ignored the urgent needs of elderly people - we have many neighbours around the sheltered accommodation in the battersea Square area, complemented by many new young parents with small babies who need the bus. 3) people working in the area and particularly those with evening careers in our local restaurants, pubs and shops have also lost this very important service which means in these dark winter months and late at night there is an increased risk to their safety. At every conceivable level this is a disgrace.

It is ridiculous that this service was cancelled without any prior warning to the residents. As a resident of the Sunbury Lane estate, I am certain that I will not be alone in being put at a disadvantage due to the loss of this route.

This is a vital service for residents of the area and churchgoers
