The 170 route is essential to those in Battersea. It is always busy and very often cramped. With the increased number of high rise flats being built in the area, it makes no sense to withdraw the service.

This route is a vital local route, reducing strain on Clapham Junction, connecting Battersea with the transport hubs of Victoria Coach and Mainline/Underground stations

husband has 2 replacment hips and heart condition...walking to Battersea Bridge for a bus is a long way.

This is a vital bus route. The fact that TfL have just closed the westbound route at that point comes as no surprise given the current Mayors record. I hope you all remember this issue and what a disaster his pathetic leadership has been for London.

Unbelievable - and what excuses from TFL. Best one - "they must have lowered the bridge" - Who? When?
Just seen a lorry, higher than the 170, seamlessly pass under the same bridge. So whilst TFL and the Bus Company argue about who should pay (and we all know who will) to rectify the order of the wrong buses...just bring back our old 170 buses. Simple really.

Crazy - total lack of forethought and planning. Surely they must have known of the height restriction of the bridge before ordering the new buses.

This bus is vital to Battersea village as it is the only one covering the area. Sending it to Battersea Park Road which is already at capacity is non sense. There was no communication prior to the change by TFL.

I live in Battersea Square and am in my 70s. I moved here 3 years ago from Battersea Park and if I had known there would be no bus service westbound I would never have bought my flat.
Does TFL imagine that all us oldies have unlimited money for UBER?
Who is the man at TFL responsible for buying the bus fleet?

Is this a case of someone not doing a thorough due diligence or a ploy for yet another new tower block dev team to get the route suspended and reinstated as a ‘look what we done for the community’ scam?
The proportion of new builds, population increase and dwindling amenities/transport links doesn’t work out prorata. Someone please do the math.
Either way, that’s the only bus route that services Lombard Road to Battersea Bridge (going via Vicarage Crescent/Battersea Square). Why exactly would you remove this service?
