Please read following Kalpana regarding Roy Achen; http://marthoma.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/REV.ROY-A-THOMAS-DISCIPLIN.pdf Achens loyalty to the Church and it ministry is questionable. What happened to the oath that he took before God and People on the day he became a Kaseesa? What happened to the servanthood ministry that he was called for? What happened to him caring about his Delaware Valley parish, leaving his flocks without a Shephered? He was only there for an year, he couldnt wait for another two yeare, finish his assignment and resign? Was that too much for him to do? Has anyone looked into his relationship with his youts at Del Val and with his fellow clergymen in the Region? We need to pray that God bless him with His wisdom and discernment? Why did Roy Achendecided do this, when Church was short 9 clergymen in the Diocese due to visa issues? All of these questions needs to be addressed by Roy Achen since he demanded for more flexibility.

This petition is so misguided and clearly one sided. Learn the facts before making quick judgments and saying things against bishops AND SIGNING THINGS WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW THE FULL STORY!! The diocese did give Roy Achen a lot of freedom in his tenure with the Marthoma Church, but it gets to a point where enough is enough. He continually brought demand after demand and showed utter disrespect when he was challenged on anything. When you are a pastor you are giving up alot of your conveniences and yes, you have to make painful sacrifices sometimes which Achen was not willing to do. Anyone remember last time he was posted in Philadelphia as youth achen? HE WAS THE WORST. HE DOESN'T WANT TO COME BACK!! THIS IS WHAT HE WANTED. THIS PETITION IS SO FRUITLESS and as a youth member I"m disgusted at the comments on this board. EDUCATE YOURSELF BEFORE JUMPING ON THE BANDWAGON.

Truly disheartening. He is an amazing achen and excommunication can lead to many of the youth to leave the church. This is a bad move for the diocese. Must reevaluate the decision.

Mar Thoma church leadership has to think about the future of the church in United States. Two priests who are representing the American youths, ordinated from United States are not in Mar Thoma church now. Why they are not satisfied with Mar Thoma Church? I understand that these two priests know English to interact with the youths. That is why youths are with them. Others are just doing their service in somehow for three years and thinking about earning maximum dollars before going back to India. They look English speakers for the speech on Sundays during English service. Here, Roy achen is not connected to any other notorious issues like other priests church involved. We know several notorious stories of our priests who are masking themselves and working in the church without any shame. Politics is also a factor. Church leadership is only looking for finding out ways to bring dollars to India instead of the church future.

Roy Achen is one of the best achen's i've known. He has taught us all so much especially the youth of our churches and has been a great asset for us all. It is so sad to see that simple requests were not granted. Outside of being and achen he is a great dad and husband who cares about his entire family greatly and I know that first hand. I hope this problem can be resolved because we miss you Roy Achen! #BringBackRoyAchen

One of the most RELEVANT achens of our church! Being from Canada, he has never even had any formal ties to me and yet provided an impact! Isn't that what one should strive for? A very poorly handled situation by our leaders. A kalpana quoting achen as a form of reprimand? Severely unprofessional and far from being Christ-like.

Hiring and Firing is quite common in United States. Being a US citizen, Roy achen knows it very well. But The Bible teaches to forgive. According to Kalapana, it was Roy achen’s wish. He made the move to other church and Metropolita acted in advance. Let Roy achen reveal the truth. If he wants to stay, give him a chance. But I believe, he won’t come back. If the Kalpana says is the fact, it is not appreciated Roy achen’s move to join Episcopal Church while he is working as a priest in MT church. If he is not satisfied with the church or the employer, he could have resign before get fired. Please don’t forget that these people are preaching about honesty and spiritual values on Sundays. That is why thinking people are staying away from church activities and losing their faith in the church.

Do the right thing and bring Roy Achen back. This excommunication is obviously doing more harm than good and if you care about the future of the church (aka the youth) you'll reconsider.

Who makes these decisions? Rev Roy you embody what it truly means to be a marthomite and if the pompous hypocrites that have made this decision feel otherwise then maybe they should look themselves in the mirror and ask if this is what politics leads too or if it's what "God intends of them"

Marthoma church is not a public limited company but this is spiritual group and forgiveness its basic principle. Bishops or Metropolitian should be compassionate and helpful to its members and priests with out showing arrogance or oppression. Scorning of a sincere and dedicated priest who was born & brought up in a different culture but came forward to serve his ancestors' church is not justified. So please take back Rev Roy Abraham Thomas of Delaware parish.

The Kalpana gives a twist to the story, also it seems he has decided to leave and has no intention to express regret for what he did. If that is the case he should be free to do what he wants. End of a chapter. The first Mar Thoma priest from North America is not in Mar Thoma church now. The second priest ordinated from North America is also working for another church. I believe that it is the high time to the Mar Thoma church for thinking about the reasons.

Excommunicating a priest and his family from the church is not Christ like. This is the behavior of man, not God. The church is not only for those who are submissive and obedient. It is for the broken, the sinner and all those looking for a place to worship with no judgement.

Rev. Roy Thomas is a family friend of ours for the past 15 years, we have only had great things about Achen and his family. A man with great faith and respect for all without looking at their age, background, status and religion. This comes as a huge shock to all of us. Respected Metropolitan you decision to this matter is beyond unacceptable. Such decisions should be only taken after clear and unbiased investigation, Marthoma Church deserves to know the truth behind this. A review Committee should be appointed lead by former Supreme Court Judge, K.T.Thomas. Thank you Achen for your service. #BringBackRoyAchen

I don't know much about Rev. Roy A Thomas and the decision which was taken against him. But, the sudden decision made by the People whose sitting in the higher position of Mar Thoma sabha was extremely wrong. If this vicar did any mistakes against the rules and regulations of Mar Thoma sabha, we should allow them what they have to tell us. Because, Mar Thoma sabha is a part of Christianity and we are following Jesus Christ.
