How can you justify excommunicating someone from the church and then continue to call yourselves a Christian? I'm going to pray for those that made this decision, because it's clear to me you need it more.

Roy Achen is one of the best we have, his knowledge and love for the ministry is rare to be frank. We have known Achen for the past 12 years and he is one of the most genuine person. I strongly believe he wouldn't do anything against the Church. This is a clear example of how the Marthoma Church uses its powers to show who is more powerful. It's sad that not one Thirumeni reached out to him, to hear his side of the story. An Achen in his capabilities should be heard! Kochama and kids are the source of light we need these days to grow our Church. Church should realize that future is being jeorpordize especially with our youths leaving us. This is a Church and not a political party, it's high time we wake up! We all love you Achen, stay strong! As you say God is great and he will use you to glorify him and nothing else matters. #BringBackRoyAchen !!!

There are two sides to every story which we recognize and honor. However to terminate Rev. Roy Thomas without any discussion with him is not acceptable. His request to look at other options outside the church simply came about due to the Diocese not granting him a posting in Dallas which is a very reasonable request. This action from the Church reflects very poorly and we hope the Church will reconsider their decision and engage in a conversation with Roy Achen as this may have a severe impact on young adults who are the future of the Church

We absolutely love Achen - he connects so well with kids born and brought up here. He is full of enthusiasm and we would hate to see him go away from us. In any case, he should be treated well for the service he has done so far.

It is sad to hear that Roy Achen is ousted from Marthoma Church. His sincerity and hard work have attracted many youths to Marthoma Church. He was a real inspiration to many. People sitting in Thiruvalla or coming from Kerala are not understanding the culture and needs of Marthoma Youth born and brought up here. Whatever be the reason, there is no justification in ousting him from Marthoma Church. What is the mistake his family did? I don't see any Christina love in this action. Bring him back. Lead by example.

It was more shocking than surprising to hear that Roy Achen was declared 'an out cast' by the MTC! "Vacate the house in less than a week" showed the care & compassion!
Do the decision makers know about his contribution to the church, especially the younger generation?
My humble request is to reconsider this decision. It's high time for out church to move with the time & tide based on faith rather than tradition& autocracy!
God bless us & guide us!

Greetings,
Im a fellow youth from Philadelphia that hoping for my to be heard. Roy Achen has been a very close friend to me and my family. Im just curious to know why there is an outrage to bring him back. Roy Achen always had thoughts to leave the Mar Thoma Church since the ordination. This ministry isn't for everyone. Its sacrificial and you got to give up everything in your life. Word says: "Take up the cross and follow me daily". Its better option for him to pursue career with Episcopal Church. Let him leave and enjoy his family life.
Ministry for the Lord is never rewarding and never bring worldly comfort and benefits.
Praying for Roy Achen and his family for a better transition. May the good Lord continue to lead our Holy Church.
Love & Prayers,
Mathew Philadelphia

I'm having difficulty with the idea of signing a petition without full information on why exactly Roy Achen has been asked to leave our church. However I will certainly say the following:
Roy Achen came to the Seattle Mar Thoma Church when I was beginning to mature in my relationship with Christ. Though I was not a part of the Seattle Church, Roy Achen reached out to our West Coast Regional Youth and showed us how to really understand our faith. He and Jiby Kochama and their children were examples of love in their community and they supported the youth both in Seattle and throughout the west coast region.
I do not know what would provoke the thirumenis to oust him from the church, but I plead with all those in leadership, who have the power and authority over these decisions to pray and truly understand why they are making this decision and what the consequences of this decision will be. At a time when the youth is removing themselves from the church over and over because of the Mar Thoma Church's inability to progress and be examples of love... a decision such as this, if it was solely made to quiet one of the few strong voices in our church, will surely mean that many of the youth of the church will no longer be able to support the church.
Please lead not with hot heads and hasty decision making. Let our community grow in love as we were directed to through his word. "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins." 1 Peter 4:8

I can sympathize and understand the concern behind this petition; however the decision was made by Roy Achen to leave the church and was wholly within his purview. I'm not even sure why the petition exists to 'bring Roy Achen back' as he has already indicated his intent to physically move on from the MTC church and serve within the Episcopal church. This is obviously a decision I'm sure he has contemplated and discussed with his family, most notably his wife. This petition serves negative purpose in attempting to call attention to bring back Achen. He will not be re instituted; more so as he prepares to join the Episcopal denomination, he and his family will be consecrated as parishioners of that church. While the kalpana issued by the Valiya Metropolitan on July 2. 2016, is vilifying it is nonetheless true as Achen has made his choice to migrate between denominations.
I urge people reading this petition to re-consider the heart of the matter presented here; there is no 'bringing back.' Undoubtedly Achen is a God-fearing servant of the Church, but please do not get muddled in the process of where you believe he should or should not be.
Let prayer, love, and understanding prevail through these trying times.

I am a member of Trinity Marthoma Church Edmonton and Roy Achen came here as part of the summer camp 2009. He did a fantastic job and I would never forget how he helped the camp to run smoothly and sort issues that crept up etc. We need Achens's like him who can understand the psyche of the North American Malayalee second generation who struggle with understanding the place of a socialist leaning church in a capitalistic society. By dismissing him you are depriving the community of a progressive journey to blend these systems and embarking on a closed approach that doesn't foster creative and innovative thinking. Please reconsider this decision.

This is exactly why you are losing the youth in America to other churches. The lack of respect for what your younger parishioners need in terms of religious fulfillment is evident in this rash decision.
