Why are the Marthoma youth so appalled? We are all living the hypocrisy our so called annointed thirumeni's speak against. We allow these disconnected devils to dictate the happenings in our adopted land, and allow their rules to govern how we worship. Who of you has the guts to stand up and revolt against the injustice they create and foster in the Marthoma church. If you really want action do something. We are in communion with the Episcopal church in America, there is a constitution written in 1978 that still stands today. We can attend an english speaking church, we can receive communion there. No need to become a hostile pentacostal or a wandering no identity non-denom conformist. We have the means as the next generation to stand up and make a change.
Are you not outraged by the blatant disregard of Christian standards of living by our so called leaders? Our thirumenis are permitted by our $$ to travel 1st class, receive specific meals, and then not even participate in a meal with the people they provide communion for. We then need to bow our heads and have them bless us with a cross their wear that they do follow as an example. We wasted millions of dollars shuttling thirumeni's all around our North American diocese, raised funds, and celebrated in all parishes and regions during our 25 year silver jubilee celebrations. That money was better served for the poor of our own mother land in India. Lets not forget the parting gifts given to thirumeni's who serve out their terms here in the North American diocese. They are provided a luxury vehicle to drive through the slums of India. Wouldn't the $$ better serve the poor, the man who can't afford a bible, the family who can't afford a marriage, or partake in church services because their church is too far. Do we forget how this Mar Thoma church came about. We are decendants of a REFORMATION. WE NEED TO REFORM IN NORTH AMERICA, start a new order of worship, and practice and honor the old litury and sacraments, but

This is another example of Politics getting into religious congregations due to which decisions like these are taken. As much as I know, Roy Achan has not committed any terrible sin for which a punishment like this should be imposed on him and his young family. His kids that are watching this, what impact will it have on their young minds? Will they ever hold Marthoma values close to their heart? Is this the right example to set?
No disrespect to Marthoma Church or any Church for that matter, but this is very unfair to a Priest that has served the congregation for 17 years.
Please take a closer look at this issue and reinstate Achan and family to the Church. Isn't that what God expects from all of us?
Thank you,
Jophy Jose

This organization can hardly be called Christian after witnessing this treatment of a well-admired Achen and his family. I am beyond disappointed in the Bishop's actions- the one man whose duty is to serve like Christ but is more interested in churning out a well-oiled business.

One size does not fit all.. There should be a review and changes made to existing rules to accommodate Achens from the US/Europe. This decision of the Mar Thoma Sabha will turn off other kids who would like to join Mar Thomas Sabha ministry from other countries. At a time, when youngsters are turning away from Mar Thoma Church and attending other churches in the US, this is a very bad example to display.
Roy Achen is a blessing to all he comes in contact with and is also a great connecting link between the youngsters here and the not-so-young generation. Showing utter disrespect to his request is a disgrace.
I request Mar Thoma Sabha to review their policies and re-consider their decision.

Communication needs to be reopened. This punishment seems so harsh and doesn't set a good precedent for those in the states and overseas who may want to join the ministry in the future.

Dear Roy Achen. We are with you. If you have guts, we can rent a facility and conduct marthoma Holy communion in english in New York. A metropolitan can dismiss a priest from his duties, but he has no right to cancel his Marthoma Primary Memebership which he inherited. Achen if you are ready, we with you

I am very sad to hear about AChen's terminated. He's an amazing man and is the first and only North American born Mallu to provide church services for the Mallu community in North America. We would like to request you to change the old fashioned policy in order to keep our churches running in North America. I am looking forward to you honouring our petition.
