Recycling has steadily increased in and around Camden, evidenced, in part, by the growth in number of recycling bins at their former location over the last few years. I personally feel like having some kind of recycling program is an indicator of a caring, nurturing, forward thinking community. It is not only necessary, it is symbolic. The village of Camden should be promoting recycling, not relegating it to a sliver of muddy land next to stacks of railroad ties and big rigs; though that was better than nothing. I propose that council make immediate plans to place recycling bins in a dry, clean, safe area, with a little supervision and a large sign warning of prosecution for dumping. There are plenty of workable options on land owned by the village. They would be doing the right thing and making everyone happy at very little to no added cost to the village.
