This tradition has been part of the engineering department at Laurentian for years, why stop it now? This freshman ceremony causes no harm and is only done with the best of intentions, there is no reason to end it.

I support your idea but I understand where administration is coming from. Safety is a major concern when dealing with first-year students whoa re not all adults yet. Your best bet is to change location or just not dye the first-years like Carleton does.
