In Windsor and Essex County, Ontario, we are plagued 24/7 with what has been nicknamed The Windsor "Hum" - Lately this so-called Hum has increased in volume and intensity to become a loud intrusive vibrating scraping rumble that is constant day and night. It is affecting our quality of life, our physical and mental health, and last but not least, it affects the value of our properties.
We are subjected to levels of noise and air pollution off the charts. From all general observations and investigations by our Municipality, by Geological Survey of Canada, by the University of Western Ontario and by the University of Windsor, the source is located on Zug Island and associated with the 2 blast furnaces of US Steel Basic Oxygene Furnaces.
We are putting forward this petition for all citizens of our municipalities in Essex County to support our efforts, to improve the quality of life of our communities, and to call our governements, at all levels, to action to remedy to these stressfull conditions in our environment.
Please we urge you to sign and participate in our efforts to remedy to this difficult situation.

Very loud noise, it's making me sick. Now I have heart problems because of the noise and vibration.
Livonia Michigan 3 miles west of Detroit. Hearing this for several years now and it is unbearable! I don't care what side of the river it is coming from, I want who or what ever is responsible brought to justice! If there is an industrial corporation causing this, I want them shut down! And anyone who has been covering it up or thwarting our efforts to get to the bottom of this needs to be put in Jail. Enough is enough!
Something one and something needs to be accountable for this

The hum has been ridiculous lately.
Something needs to be done about this noise, it is making peoples lives a misery. More and more people are hearing it, it is NOT imagination, it's REAL.

Beyond frustrated with this noise and environmental pollution that’s been going on for far too many years. Our governments need to be accountable and do something. This is causing health issues for humans and animals beyond what can even be imagined. Do something, please. LaSalle, Ontario resident
