We love Bethany and all the stores and restaurants, but we will not be going there until the parking situation is corrected. It’s a terrible shame for the business owners and Bethany with all the money being lost. I hope the businesses survive!

Owning rental properties in Ocean View, where am I supposed to yell my guests to park? The rental business is livelihood.

QUIT TRYING TO MAKE BETHANY BEACH A PRIVATE BEACH FOR RESIDENTS. PEOPLE HAVE BEEN VACATIONING HERE FOR 50 YEARS.

I am only 2 1/2 miles from beach, the reason I moved here full time from NJ. After being closed for so long I would think Bethany would welcome the business and parking fees. I understand the distancing but I believe it will be easy with all the space on the beach and boardwalk. Hope Bethany rethinks this for businesses and the people.

We live less than two miles from the boardwalk and spend much of our money at restaurants and shops by the beach. After one weekend, with very little tourist traffic, parking was impossible. We took our money elsewhere. Very sad that we’ve invested in a community that has turned its back not only on those that have supported it over the years, but also the businesses and their employees.

All parking should be free and open to all in Bethany beach

Please reconsider changing the parking back to how it’s been in the past. We live 4 miles from the beach. Why should Bethany residents have the majority of spaces? This is a business area not their private property to reserve spots. This will hurt the businesses even more.

The current parking restrictions are ridiculous. It also keeps neighboring local residents out of the beach area who support Bethany businesses year long

I live one mile from the beach but considered Ocean View and cannot go downtown as a local because there is no place to park. Plus our downtown businesses need to recover. We are asking for tourists to come visit and spend money but how can they feel welcomed if no place to park.

It’s awful what the town is doing. It’s ruining Bethany. It may never be the same if they don’t change this.

It's time to vote out this town council. Entirely. Let's start that petition next. It's egregious to have representatives that are systematically trying to ruin the livelihoods of the small businesses that keep people coming back to Bethany year after year.

That needs to change.

Tourism is your main economic lifeline, taking away our parking will force us to go to Dewey, Rehoboth or anywhere else.
