We live just outside Bethany. We’ve been going to the beach here for decades. This is crazy that we can’t park in Bethany. We were in town two nights ago and there were hundreds of spaces available to residents but not to us.

Great way to keep your town empty, close down all of the restaurants and shops. The beaches will be empty “but” you land values will go in the bucket. Be careful for what you wish for... it may come true. You should highly raise all downtown parking fees this will keep the majority of people away while making a higher income for Bethany. Your current format is a death sentence to businesses and land owners.

6/3/20 Residents are using a private parking spots, removing cars from their residents spots near home and parking close to beach, blocking people from visiting the beach and spending money at nearby merchants.

We will miss the events on the boardwalk this summer otherwise.

As an out of stater, I will not be going to Bethany if I can’t park- what are we supposed to do, just drive around town?

We have been residents of Ocean View for 37 years. It is preposterous to think the residents of Bethany are benefiting from tourists and surrounding taxpayers and business patrons without reciprocity! This is a slap in the face and I won’t take it sitting down! I’ve worked in Bethany, shopped there, and enjoyed the beach my entire life! Now I can’t even drive up and park at sunset on my beloved 4th street??! I have tolerated the changes in town for years and never raised my voice, but this decision has my blood boiling! This is the thanks we get for maintaining a local residence and giving our business to the town of Bethany all these years? I guess you’ve taken all you need from others and you’re closing the gates? Really? I don’t know how the town or businesses will survive this decision. Shaking my “virtual” head in disbelief and sadness.

It is time to STOP BLOCKING the sand and ocean that isn’t owned by only those who own property in Bethany Beach! They don’t own the beaches - they own the property blocking other from the beach! The same beaches that our taxes money replenishing - the same beaches that our families have for decades have gladly shared with “out of towners”! Next time a nor’easter or hurricane hits Bethany Beach don’t come looking for all of us that live on the west side of route one to rebuild! #mothernaturedoeswhatshewants #angrysussexctygirl

Residents know the parking drill. Non-residents will become discouraged. The new-normal is already going to have a severe impact. Why pile on now? This could be especially tough on business midweek and shoulder season. I feel for the residents. However, you hang your hat in a resort town, and it’s give and take

Bad move Bethany Beach town council. You seem determined to run any surviving businesses out of town.

I was up at Campbell lot today and plenty of empty spaces in the lot going unused an unpaid . I live in Bear Trap and support all the downtown Bethany businesses and need be able to park .

We are frequently BB visitors throughout the summer. Beaching, eating, and shopping on lots of Sunday day trips from Annapolis. We can’t and won’t come if there is no where to park. It’s really rude and unwelcoming. I feel sorry for business owners. They don’t deserve this. If residents don’t want visitors, they shouldn’t live in a beach town. Virus or no virus!

Haven't businesss suffered enough already. Now we can't park and shop there? What the heck. Fix this now.

We are local property owners(Salt Pond)who spend a tremendous amount of of money in BB and find these NIMBY restrictions offensive. We will gladly spend our money elsewhere!

The Bethany Beach town council seems like just another group of elitist tyrants who will smugly tell you that their parking decision is based upon "science and data..." Meanwhie, the Town of Bethany Beach has been scheming for years on how to slow the influx beach goers from Ocean View and Millville. Covid19 "science and data" simply opened the door for them. This all about pleasing Bethany residents and the heck with everyone else - including the local merchants who will likely be bankrupted by "science and data."

Hoping these guidelines can be changed.
