Bring Back Non-Resident Parking, Bethany Beach, Delaware

I plan to visit and will require parking

Not sure why these changes were implemented. Most, if not all, BB residences appear to have multiple parking spaces in front of, behind, or under their homes plus resident only parking on the residential streets. Parking is limited and this makes it almost impossible to find a parking place for “locals” who don’t qualify for residential permits.

Living just outside the Bethany downtown area we frequent the beach often. I purposely wait to spend money at the stores near the beach to support the economy of the town and give back to small business. To allocate the VAST majority of the already limited parking spaces to the few million dollar homes near the beach is simply insulting. I can honestly say I have spent over $1,000+ this season at beach front stores. If the parking is not made available to non residents I will 100% choose to take my money elsewhere. Thanks

I own a house outside of Bethany town limits. I go to the beach often. It is ridiculous that there are many open “Residents Only” spots on a daily basis in what used to be first come first serve parking lots. I’m not sure whose brain child this idea was but it has to be hurting the revenue stream for the town and the local businesses. Parking was difficult and almost impossible before this “brilliant” idea. And now we must pass empty “Residents Only” spots to win the lottery of finding a parking spot only to move again two hours later. In my opinion, Bethany residents already had ample parking spaces up and down the streets in front of homes, many of which are empty on any given day. I vote open the parking to everyone.

I’ve had a home in Ocean View for 15. Much heart and many dollars have gone into Bethany Town from our family. We are planning to purchase another home soon but are now looking at towns that are more considerate of the needs of their neighbors, not just immediate residents of the town. Bethany’s handling of this situation has been disappointing.

This is disgusting. Remember when you vote. It's called power.

Unfortunately my dad always predicted that it would only be a matter of time before Bethany became a private beach! It’s outrageous. I’ve come here for over 45 years, purchased a home in OV in 2018,in the home stretch to where I will finally be a “local” and enjoy BB year round whenever I want. It sure doesn’t look likely with the way things are going. Just hoping my favorite businesses can hang in there.

I live 2 miles away in Ocean View and am assuming I’m a non resident. I’m not sure though. What constitutes a resident?

Dont kill your beaches livelihood like this. Its ridiculous to destroy your business because officials of your town want their own private beach.

We live in PA and we have a place at Ocean View . In the next three month we were planning to be there and usually go to Bethany beech and shop there very frequently. If there going to be parking problem in Bethany we will go to either Rehoboth or Ocean city , MD.

This new parking is absurd. I love going to Bethany for a stroll or lunch shopping or hang on the beach. Now where the heck am I supposed to park. We live in fenwick. New plans suck. Please fix

I was there last weekend and it was awful to park. We rode our bikes during the day, but to go out to dinner at night for people to have to park 7 or 8 blocks from the Boardwalk is ridiculous.These restaurants are trying to make ends meet at 30% capacity and the servers are wearing masks in 90 degree weather. Help them.

I live in Ocean View and moved her to go to Bethany Beach. Why would this be prohibited--I am a local resident--just not in the Bethany town limits!

I visited the beautiful town of Bethany for the first Rome this past weekend and have to say I will not be back due to parking enforcement. There are very confusing signs for free 15 min parking along Atlantic right along a 2 hr pay to park sign. I paid my 2 grs and parked to come back to a ticket saying it was a 15 min ONLY spot. They failed to mention ONLY on the sign. Next day got a parking ticket for “expired time” on Pa ave but I had an hour left on my ticket! I went to parking officials both times who could not be bothered with my questions. We’re clearly not welcome at Bethany. Such a shame as I was considering moving here!
