Mrs. Ratliff deserves to be back at her own school! The transfer act was unconscionable!

Be careful when you use the word "all". I am a parent of a child who did indeed have Mrs. R. I have not and will never rave about her. She puts on a great show, and I bought it, actually requesting her for my child. In fact it has been by far the worst Kindergarten experience of any of my children, (I have more than one child). It was a difficult year. My child was a target for her. My child struggled to the point that they did not want to go to school, and to this day, years later, still talks of how they would consider that the worst year they had in school. Over the years there I witnessed quite a number of children who could not be successful in her room due to her inability to be flexible with their differences. I know I am not the only parent with the only child that did not find success in her room, I do know of several parents who requested that their child not be in her room, or those who chose not to attend Brookwood for Kindergarten so as to avoid placement in her room. So please don't speak for "all" parents of "all" the children who have been a member of Mrs. R's classroom. There was nothing to rave about except maybe her Oscar worthy performance as a great teacher, because in my opinion it was just a show for the adults.

After working for 34 years teaching in five states with multiple schools and staff, I can say Brookwood had one of the best group of professionals serving the parents and students. Kim Ratliff is one of those teachers that gives her best every day. Brookwood is lucky to have her and I can understand why parents are concerned losing one of their best teachers. A staff with diversity, young and older is a stronger staff. Shawnee Mission needs to look closely at policy for the morale of all hard working teachers. I appreciate those like Kim that "serve". We are losing many of our best and brightest to other professions. Morale in the district starts at the top just as it does in a business. Please empower your teachers with support and thanks for the unbelieveable job they do each and every day! Thank you Kim! I loved working with you and all of Brookwoods's best!

I worked as a buddy teacher with Mrs. R when I was a teacher at Brookwood. Mrs. R cared about her students, had creative ideas, was an innovative and hands-on teacher, and a supportive staff member. The SM school district and this Brookwood administrator don't seem to admire these attributes.

Appalling. She has tenure and is a fabulous teacher. SMSD no longer sees their employees as people but as interchangeable parts. It's so unfortunate that our once beloved district is doing this to great teachers left and right. No wonder so many teachers' morale is at an all time low. The job is tough enough without having to deal with this. I hope Mrs. R remains at Brookwood. If she doesn't, I'd go to a district that cares about people

My daughter never had Mrs. R but all parents whose children did have her raved about her. Unfortunately she is not the first teacher to be "punished" in some way during this principal's tenure. Dr. Hinson needs to take a stand. He has not been afraid to fire other administrators so what is stopping him now?

Mrs. R was one of the most instrumental teachers I had in my time at Brookwood. It's a shame to see such a terrific teacher and important asset to Brookwood be moved.

This is simply not to be tolerated. Mrs R has always been an outstanding teacher and friend to our children. The Brookwood community won't stand for such underhanded behavior.

2 of my 3 children had Mrs. R. She is one of kind and the most devoted teacher to her students. This so reminds me of when we lost our A+ reading specialist a few years ago. There is definitely a leadership issue at Brookwood that should have been dealt with years ago. We started with Mrs. Boston at Brookwood and things have steadily gone down hill since she left. What a shame SMSD that you don't see what's going on.

We teach our kids the importance of reporting bullies in school, what kind of lesson is this? It would be nice if we could somehow had a bully button to press. If there is no action taken on the part of this individual, It shows a lack of confidence in the school board.

There is a leadership problem at Brookwood. Losing yet one more great teacher is an indication of this problem. I have several neighbors with children around me in the Brookwood area and not one of the children attend Brookwood. It is due to a variety of problems that has the Brookwood leadership at its core. That is why I am signing this petition.

I share the love and respect for Mrs. R illustrated by the sincere comments of the Brookwood parental community. The decorous nature of our community has prevented identification of the real problem (not issue). WE NEED A NEW PRINCIPAL! Teddi has got to go!

Kim Ratliff is an outstanding teacher in every way. The district is very lucky to have her. She should always be treated with the respect and courtesy that a distinctive educator in the Shawnee mission school district deserves. There is no excuse for any negative treatment towards this amazing educator. She is what every parent would want as a teacher for their child. She is an example of the best education offers its students. Thank you Kim!!!!!

Mrs Ratliff is one of the finest teachers with whom I had the pleasure of working with during my 21 years at Brookwood. I know the community loves her.

This seems very unfair. Mrs. R has nurtured so many students- many not even in her own classroom. I am not sure why she did not have a say or was involved in the decision to transfer. Mrs. R has always shown compassion to her students and I stand with many others against this.

The school district or those making these decisions should be ashamed of their actions and treatment of their employee.
