I support her. It was not her fault. She needs to be reinstated.

You punished the victim when you should have punished the thief. The principal should be fired too

The student needs to face some kind of consequence for defacement of a person, thievery, and intrusion of privacy. This matter should not be overlooked. Please reinstate this teacher as she did nothing wrong. Anyone involved in the decision should be ashamed that a great teacher is gone.

Student should be charged with theft.

As I do believe the phone should have been locked, the student was at fault. This is personal property and it's not the teacher's fault that the parent hasn't instilled any moral value into this child.

As someone who is studying to be a teacher, this terrifies me. The teacher didn't purposefully do this, but the student intentionally did.

I was teaching an art class once and while I was helping students a student went and stole money from my purse. The school had never made a locker available. It's difficult to be vigilant for nascent criminals and teach, so I feel for her.

Admin should exemplify to students and community fairness and due process, and differentiate between "permissiion", deception and criminal behavior, Else administrators should be subject to same punitive actions.

This is disgraceful. The student who STOLE her phone should be expelled and prosecuted for this gross breach of her privacy.

This is an instance of "blaming the victim." It all comes down to one simple fact: What is on her phone is private. That student had no right whatsoever to STEAL that phone and then turn around and publish whatever is on it. Mrs. Arthur has been grievously wronged and should be reinstated immediately.

Eubanks is obviously lying. This teacher did not deserve to have her privacy violated, nor did she deserve to be called a liar.

No one has a right to touch or tamper with someone's property unless permission with given. Student had no right with tampering with her personal items.

This is absolutely unacceptable. We cannot take away the rights of our teachers on the basis that they are teachers. Teachers, along with everyone else, have a personal life. I am disgusted at the school board for allowing this to escalate to the point it is at. Liberties are liberties; you cannot blame an innocent women for somebody else's actions.
