It's the superintendent who is in big trouble. Legal trouble.

I think the woman learned a lot. If she's a good teacher then bring her back with a short suspension.

I don't believe this teacher should have been forced to resign. Reinstatement is the right solution in this case.

She deserves her position back. Her privacy was invaded. Clearly this was not her fault.

I am appalled at the behavior that kids today are allowed to get away with. These kids who grow up glued to their phones and social media, who have no idea how to have a conversation, or have any idea what consequences are because we blame everything they do on society today, it honestly all makes me sick. I'm never having kids because this is the type of world we live in. Should this professor have locked her phone? Yes, and I'm sure she will everyday going forward. But whose naked photos are on the internet now? Who had to resign from their job? Who now faces public humiliation? All because some horrible kid with no concept of respect, who will probably never face any real consequences, thought it would be cool or funny or mean to effectively ruin someone's livelihood. I hope this woman can find a teaching job where her value as an educator is more important than not wanting to upset the school district because some students may have seen those private phots. We as a society should be ashamed of ourselves, that kid's parents most of all.

It was a violation of privacy, which is listed in school policies and should protect the teachers as well. Best wishes for Mrs. Arthur and her lovely students.

It is unfair and unconscionable that a student does something wrong, and the teacher is blamed. This district is spreading the message that teachers are held to ridiculous standards and students can get away with stupidity. Teachers are held accountable for the behaviors of others. How is that fair? Tell me how anyone can control the behavior of others without coercion or some other unethical method. You cannot. Ever wonder why kids today think they can get away with stupidity? It's because they see others getting punished instead of themselves. There is no personal responsibility in regards to student behavior. Superintendent Eubanks needs to get a clue and some common sense. Reinstate Mrs. Arthur.

I think it's unfair to treat her that she is in the wrong for trusting students with her belongings. Her fellow teachers should also stand by her. The students are very good to stand up for justice!!!

Totally unfair of her to lose her job. Embarrassment is one thing. But for the school to not stand behind her as their employee is disgusting. She has a life and kids to take care of she doesn't deserve to be out of a job she did NOTHING wrong.

I commented right after signing the petition but after going through a couple more comments I agree she should bring a lawsuit against the school. I would have no problem donating money towards a lawyer for her. Students should be held accountable for their actions. All you are doing is teaching the student that it is ok to harass a teacher. People have the right to privacy and their own personal belongings. What kind of punished is there for posting nude pictures on social media without the person's consent. The parents should may be held accountable for their child's actions.

No person should be held responsible for another's thoughtless actions.

This is insane. Why should she be punished for the acts of her student. He should be punished, what he did was criminal. I'd like to see the superintendents phone.

I am a teacher and find that a colleague losing her job over the actions of a teenage kid to be completely ludicrous. There have been times when I leave my phone on my desk and go to help a student in another part of the classroom without my phone in sight. I sincerely hope none of my students would have the audacity to direspect my privacy.
