If another teacher had taken the actions taken by the student, who would have faced the consequences?

The student should be arrested! The teacher is a victim here!

She wasn't doing anything wrong and shouldn't be punished...the punishment should go to the punk that spread the photo.

A shameful way to respond to an invasion of privacy, and theft. The victim shouldn't not have been punished, the student who stole and distributed sexually explicit images to other minors should be expelled.

This student should be expelled for stealing property and distributing inappropriate materials to students, in addition to criminal and civil actions. I'm surprised that the teacher didn't have her phone secured better than she did, but she shouldn't lose her job over something that was basically stolen from her.

Mrs Arthurs' teaching career should not be ruined over a violation of her privacy.

It's good to know your not allowed to have a private life and be a teacher! Unbelievable, and I truest hope she just doesn't have to go back to work for these asshats.

Mrs. Arthur should never have been fired! She deserves to be reinstated as a teacher!

This kid took her phone and went through her private posts. Much different than making a call! She did NOTHING wrong!

The kid not only stole the phone but in uploading the picture distributed pornography. If he isn't in jail then he should be. What is everyone thinking letting him get away with his treatment of not only a teacher but a woman.

As a teacher who will walk away from her phone on her desk myself, I can say that the leaving the phone behind only happens because my concern for the students overrules my concern for what's happening on my phone. This is a ridiculous invasion of privacy and there's NO reason why the teacher should be to blame.

How ridiculous! Give this woman her job back and punish the student for misconduct, stealing & invasion of privacy. She did absolutely nothing wrong! The student, on the other hand, is definitely a punk who stepped out of line and deserves to be reprimanded.

Way to teach young men that they can violate women and not only get away with it, but that society will blame the woman. I'm so glad your job is teaching our young people.

Way to victim blame!!! It's abhorrent that a woman can be treated thus and then blamed 100% for it, but I guess that's what we get from sexist, mysoginists. It's sickening that these people are in charge of education.

I find it shameful to fire someone for having a private photo released without consent, and to blame the victim, not the perpetrator.

Way to teach those students responsibility for their actions! This is unacceptable, and I really hope the teacher pursues a lawsuit against the school board, regardless of what happens.
